Echinops ritro Globe Flower

Echinops ritro, or Globe Flower, is a bold, compact perennial valued for its architectural form and striking steel-blue flowers. Ideal for mixed borders, this clump-forming plant produces large, deeply divided grey-green leaves with a cobwebby texture that contrast beautifully with softer foliage plants. In summer to late summer, strong upright stems carry distinctive spherical flower heads made up of many tiny florets, forming eye-catching blue pom-poms that add colour and structure to the garden. The flowers are excellent for cutting and also dry well, making them perfect for long-lasting arrangements and winter displays.Remove spent blooms to prevent self-seeding, and cut plants back to the ground after flowering to encourage fresh leafy growth.
